It’s AirShow week! This Sioux Falls AirShow is coming up this weekend! That along with a whole buch of other fun stuff! (If you are only here for the Whisk(e)y Wednesday news, just scroll down…)

I am currently writing this sitting out at the airport supervisng the setup of our VIP area. It’s a totally different layout than previous shows, so if you have a VIP ticket or a Chalet ticket, you are in for a treat! I am in for a treat as Thunderbird #8 is going to be arriving shortly, so I get to see that happen!

Activities around the AirShow start tomorrow with Discover Aviation Day (7/16/2026). The event will be held at Maverick Air Center and runs from 10am to 4pm. It’s an open house style event so you can come and go as you please. It’s also a free event courtesy of our Sioux Falls AirShow sponsorship partner, Aerostar. So be sure to say hello!

THEN, JJ’s is sponsorong the Levitt concert on Friday night with “Ho He Dead” as the headliner. We are also going to have a special appearance by the Thunderbirds before the main event. You won’t want to miss that!

THEN, get ready for Power on the Prairie! The Air Force Thunderbirds and many other amazing acts will be tearing up the skies of Sioux Falls on July 18th & 19th! This is also a FREE event and that is made possible by some great community sponsors. If you are looking for a VIP experience, there are still a few tickets available for purchase. JJ’s will have a bigger presence at the Sioux Falls AirShow this year with what we are calling JJ’s Landing Strip Pub. This will be an area in the “North 40” of the grounds where you can purchase an adult beverage. We will be providing more details on this early next week (products offered, payment options, etc.) This is the first time we have offered adult beverages in the free general admission area, and we are excited to bring this enhanced element to the AirShow!

• Thursday – Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars – A blend of the early Creole jazz bands with New Orleans R&B, second line music, calypso, and their own ethereal, mystical and magical original music.
• Friday – Oh He Dead – Funky, poppy rock vibes with powerhouse vocals.
• Saturday – Opening act is our good friends from Breath Bravely then followed by The Flat River Band – Americana/Bluegrass

JJ’s Bar at the Levitt opens at 6:00pm (except where noted above) before every concert with Happy Hour at The Levitt until the live music starts. $2 off all drinks!

Food Features in JJ’s Bar

Mediterranean Tapenade Platter – Roasted garlic and olive tapenade, whipped herb ricotta, marinated cucumbers, sliced sausages and toast points. Perfect mix of fresh and summery flavors for sharing.
