Codigo Reposado Single Barrel Tequila – JJ’s 2nd Edition
What is this? What does it mean? Why is there a strange Spanish reference to wet pants? I’ll explain.
A few months ago, we had just selected our second barrel of Codigo Reposado Single Barrel tequila. After the selection, I was informed by our Codigo rep that we could customize the label. Rather than just the standard logo. With this in mind, the team and I went to work to try and come up with something fun and carry an anecdotal component to our latest single barrel.
After a few days of trying to come up something kitchy and fun, without any solution, inspiritation came in the form of an emergency call from Kate, our bakery manager in The Boozy Bakery.
Now Kate is more than just a bakery manager. She is also, all things considered, our third child. So when a crisis needs to be averted, I throw on my dad hat, and try to help. Her sump pump in her house rental was not working during a rather heavy rain. She had called the superintedant, and they were not able to get there to try and fix the problem for a while as the water kept creeping to a dangerous level.
I jumped in my car and headed over. I get there and recognize fairly quickly what the problem was and it was a fairly easy fix until the super could get there and do something a little more permanent.
Upon returning to the shop, the team noticed that I was carrying a little extra water weight as my clothes were soaked from the quick-fix.
I have two “least favorite” words in the English language. The first is “moist” and the second is “slacks”. My staff, knowing this, took note of my “moist slacks” (I cringe just typing it), and that is where the inspiritation for our newest barrel of Codigo sprang from. I quickly googled… “Moist Slacks in Spanish” and out popped “Pantalones Humedos”.
